I Let Meta's Muse AI Run My Freelance Business for a Month — Here's What Actually Happened
Meta's Muse isn't another chatbot — it's an AI agent with its own computer that does the work. I gave it my freelance backlog for a month: GitHub profile, app rebrand, product launch, SEO fixes. Here's the honest result, plus how the 1-billion-token invite offer really works.

Quick answer: Meta's Muse is a personal AI agent (launched September 2026) that doesn't just chat — it works on its own computer: writing code, editing files, publishing to GitHub, and running multi-step projects while you're away. I handed it my freelance backlog for a month. It rebuilt my GitHub profile, rebranded and shipped an open-source app, published a WebGL site, overhauled my content site's SEO, and wrote my entire product launch kit — while a second Muse setup on another account polished my freelance profiles and automated my social posting. New users can currently claim 1 billion bonus tokens with an invite code redeemed in Settings within 48 hours of joining — my codes are below, with one honest disclosure.
01What Muse actually is (and isn't)
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, launched on September 8, 2026 and currently rolling out in the US and Canada. The key difference from ChatGPT or Claude chat: every user gets an agent running on its own dedicated computer. You don't prompt it and watch — you assign work, close the app, and it keeps going: researching, writing, editing files, using a real browser, managing connected accounts.
It is not magic, and it is not unsupervised. Anything outward-facing — a push to GitHub, a published page — comes back to me for confirmation first. Think of it less like a chatbot and more like a tireless junior developer who never sleeps but always asks before shipping.
02What it did for my business — with receipts
I'm a freelance web developer and AI chatbot builder. Here's the actual backlog it cleared, all verifiable:
1. Rebuilt my GitHub profile. It rewrote my profile README end to end — featured my NanoClip project, added my Aura Watch 3D site as a second featured project with live demo links, and updated my display name. Don't take my word for it: github.com/muazforu is the live demo. That page is its work.
2. Rebranded and shipped an app. It took an open-source AI video clipping tool, renamed and rebranded all 33 affected files to "NanoClip by Techinfotics," published it to GitHub, drove the Windows installer build through CI, created the v1.0.0 release, and then wrote the complete launch kit — ready-to-post copy for Show HN, Reddit, Dev.to, LinkedIn, and X.
3. Published a WebGL site. It took a single hand-coded 3D watch website file, polished the meta tags and branding, and published it to GitHub Pages with a proper README.
4. Overhauled my content site's SEO. A full SEO/AEO/GEO pass on this very site — removed fabricated articles, fixed structured data, then later fixed the site's broken search: a dead header search button, empty states, and mobile navigation.
5. Polished my freelance profiles — and automated my posting. A second Muse setup on another account took this further: it tightened up my Fiverr profile copy and gig positioning (fiverr.com/moazyousafzai), polished my LinkedIn profile, set up Instagram post autoscheduling, and configured Facebook autoposting.
One honest note on the social media claim: this Muse account wrote every word of my launch content, but it doesn't hold my logins — I never hand any Muse raw passwords; everything goes through official connections, and here I still click Post myself. The scheduling and autoposting above runs through that separate Muse setup on my other account, which I configured for it. An agent that won't touch credentials it wasn't given is a feature, not a limitation.
03The 1 billion tokens thing — how it really works
This part is real, and here's the exact mechanic so you don't miss it:
- Create your Muse account at muse.ai (US/Canada rollout).
- Within 48 hours of joining, open Settings and find Redeem token (mobile app) or Settings > General > Usage > Redeem invite code (web).
- Enter an invite code and confirm. Both you and the person who shared the code get the bonus tokens — currently advertised as 1 billion each, on top of the free weekly usage allowance.
My invite codes (try the next one if a code reports as used up — each code has a limited number of redemptions):
- 18OBXD
- 2ENL6C
- FFQMGQ
- PPIJA8
Two things to know: the 48-hour window is strict — after that the redeem option disappears and can't be applied retroactively. And the exact reward terms are shown on the invite screen inside the app itself; that's the authoritative source, not any blog post.
Disclosure, because trust matters: these are my referral codes. If you redeem one, I receive the same token bonus. I'm telling you plainly because a hidden ad earns nothing — a straight one might earn your trust.
04Honest limitations
- It needs clear instructions. Vague ask in, vague work out. The month worked because I gave it concrete tasks with checkable outcomes.
- Approvals are mandatory. Nothing gets published, pushed, or sent without my confirmation. If you want a fully autonomous agent with zero oversight, this isn't that — and for client work, you shouldn't want that either.
- It's a doer, not a strategist. It cleared my backlog brilliantly. Deciding what the backlog should be is still my job.
05Verdict
If you're a freelancer or solo builder sitting on a mountain of "I'll get to it later" — profile polish, documentation, releases, SEO chores, launch copy — Muse is the first AI tool I've used that actually clears the pile instead of chatting about it. My GitHub profile is the proof; go look at it, then decide.
Try it on one real project this week. Redeem the tokens within 48 hours. And judge it on shipped work, not on demo videos — that's the only review that matters.
